THE STORY BEHIND MLK DAY

Although MLK Day was created on November 2, 1983, the Holiday was transformed into “Martin Luther King Day of Service” in 1994.   You can check out the full story on my JSI blog here

Also, this year (2009), you can visit www.USAservice.org/calltoservice to find service events near you or to even host one yourself!  What I really like is that you can use this site on an ongoing basis to continue serving our country even after January 19, 2009!
